Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

TableScape is operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, who is the "data controller" for the information described here. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@tablescape.app.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

Your email address	To create and secure your account, and to send you essential service emails.
Your name	To personalise your account and communications.
Your wedding date and country	To tailor the service and understand where our users are based.
Your communication preferences	To respect your choices about marketing and partner contact.
Login activity (times you sign in)	To keep the service secure and understand engagement.
Your plan contents — guest names, guest types, groups, dietary requirements and notes	To provide the core seating-planning service to you.
Payment records	To confirm and manage purchases. Card details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store them.

Some of the information in your guest list — such as names and dietary requirements — is personal data about your guests. You enter this, and we process it only to provide the service to you. Dietary information can indicate things like health or religious practice, so we treat it with particular care and use it solely to display and export it within your own plan.

3. Why we're allowed to use your data

Under UK data protection law we rely on the following legal bases:

• Performing our contract with you — to run your account and provide the planning service.
• Your consent — for optional marketing emails and any future partner sharing (you can withdraw this at any time).
• Our legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent misuse (including detecting and linking multiple accounts created to circumvent payment), and improve how it works, in a way that does not override your rights.
• Legal obligations — for example, keeping records required for tax on payments.

4. Marketing and partner sharing

We will only send you marketing emails (such as feature updates and wedding planning tips) if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email or by updating your preferences in your profile.

We do not currently share your personal data with any third-party marketing partners. If you have opted in to partner sharing, this is consent for possible future sharing with carefully selected wedding-industry partners — but we will not share your data with any such partner unless and until that arrangement actually exists, and we will make it clear before we do. You can withdraw this consent at any time.

5. Who we share data with to run the service

We use a small number of trusted providers ("processors") to operate TableScape. They process data only on our instructions and under agreements that require them to protect it:

Supabase	Securely stores your account and plan data, and manages sign-in.
Vercel	Hosts the website and serves it to you.
Stripe	Processes payments securely.
Brevo	Sends account and (if you've opted in) marketing emails.
Google Workspace	Handles our email correspondence with you.
Vercel Analytics	Provides privacy-friendly, aggregated usage statistics.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK/EU-approved data transfer terms) to keep your data protected.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and plan data for as long as your account is active. If your account remains inactive for 24 months, we may delete it and its associated data. You can ask us to delete your account and data sooner at any time (see your rights below). We keep basic payment records for as long as we are legally required to for tax and accounting purposes.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format — you can export your guest list and plan details directly in the app at any time, including when a plan is locked;
• Correct data that is inaccurate;
• Ask us to delete your data;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Withdraw consent for marketing or partner sharing at any time.

To exercise any of these, email info@tablescape.app. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to limit who can access it.

9. Age

TableScape is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a significant change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
